New Pages

Here are a few pages I've been working on the last few days. The first one is Zoie and Angi at the beach in summer 2000 using Joyce de Jonge's Fairy Dust kit.

The next is the day Mitch and Jeanett got married in 1998. Love the look on Derik's face. And it is Nicole in the pic not Beth, I have to change that on the final copy.
This was using Serendipity from Silvia Romeo at Digitals.

Next is my great-great niece, Alyssa when she was visiting Carol this summer and we happened to be there. I just loved this candid shot of her discovering her shadow. It's so much more fun when they don't know you have the camera in hand. I like the little saying I came up with. This is made using a brand new kit from Alessandra Designs at Digitals called Ethereal Fantasy. Such a wispy, soft, dreamy kit, I love it!

And last is Silvia's other new kit called Citrus Delight. This is Momma, they snapped this fast before she could object. Who would have known she'd look so cute in a hat. Aren't the colors in Silvia's kit perfect with the photo of Mom. What fun is Digital Scrapbooking!

Arizona Highways

This is my first page of our recent trip to Northern Arizona. We left last Monday and drove to Flagstaff bypassing the North Rim this time. We arrived early in the day and headed to Sedona where the pictures in this page were taken. Throughout the week we've been to Jerome, Prescott, Payson, the South Rim and Flagstaff, plus miles and miles and miles in between. It was a super fun trip with lots of new memories, a brand new friend, well actually we've been digi friends for a long time but we finally got to meet in real time and tons and tons of new pictures to scrap. Isn't retirement great?

I used a kit from Cottage Arts called Tuscan Memories for this page, I just loved the rich ambers in it and it was a perfect fit for my pictures of the church in Sedona.

The journaling reads: When I was young one summer my Mom and Dad drove the whole California coastline for me so we could stop at the Missions along the way.
When Paul and I visited Sedona Arizona we came across this church tucked amongst the shops and eateries.
I wandered inside to take a few photos and was instantly taken to those past years of Daddy stopping so I could see inside yet another Mission.
This wasn’t California, and it surely wasn’t the coast, but the beauty, the peace, the serenity was there and touched my heart and gave me the peace it did years ago as a little girl.
I guess I was in love with the book Ramona and those early days of our country growing with the strong Spanish influence.
I was sure glad we’d turned this cobblestone corner and saw this lovely sight just inviting us to stop, stand still and just appreciate how precious it is to be.

I'll be posting more pages and photos of the trip soon. So stop back by if you'd like to see!

A Flower's Soul

Every month at Digitals I rotate to a new designer and create layouts using her kits. For the month of August I've been paired with Christine Nash, above I've used a trio of her Brown Baggin' It kits all available at Digitals to create this page. I've loved this picture of the flower's Mitch sent me for Mother's Day, and I especially love how they turned out here. The quote fit perfectly.

I Made a Book!!!

This is my first Hybrid project for the Creative Hybrid Team
at Digitals. How fun was this. It was so easy using Lynne Simmons Days Gone By kit!
Wow I just picked the photos and plopped them in the quickpages.
I used the Cosmo Cricket Blackboard Kit, Abby which you can buy at Digitals.

I learned a lot putting this together. I used a spray glue which you spray the backs of the photos, wait a minute, and then attach to the book pages. It worked cool, much much better than drippy glue! Some of my pages weren't exactly on, so I trimmed with a straight blade, then sanded them a little and inked the edges with a felt tip pen. Worked great covered up everything.

It's so cool to see your stuff in print and a book no less. I think I'll make these for the grandkids for Christmas, how cool would that be to have a book of 'YOU'?
