Diggin' in the Muck!

Sometimes (most times really) it's hard to find pics of my son-in-laws to scrap, and my son for that matter. When Cottage Arts released this new kit, Garage Grunge Page Pak, tonight I knew right away what I was going to scrap. These photos of Luke when he came and helped unclog my pipes in my old home in Longview. What a sweetheart, he worked so hard all day in the muck and yucky stuff but wouldn't quit until he had it fixed. It may have been over 6 years ago now, how that much time could have passed I can't quite figure out, but it seems like it was just a few days ago. (I imagine it will always be a vivid memory in his mind too, lol, but not a very good one!!!)

Journaling reads:
This, my son-in-law was above and beyond the call of duty!
The pipes had clogged, Pops, as you called him,
wasn’t here to fix the mess and you stepped in,
shovel in hand and muscles in back.
Dig, dig, digging for what seemed forever in the
backyard to reach the outlet to the main sewer pipes.
It was a dirty, yucky, stinky job but you refused to give up until it was fixed.
I know you felt like Dad was there guiding you all the way to know how and what to do!
You made me proud and I’m sure he was smiling from above
with a nod of approval and a ‘good job Luke’!
If I failed to tell or show you how much I appreciated what you did then
here it is in living color as a reminder that
when you set your mind to something
you CAN do it!

Honeymoon with the Mouse!

Glenda Ketcham from Digitals has the greatest line of Disney Kits entitled The Most Wonderful Place on Earth. While looking through Amber and Bryan's Disney Honeymoon pictures one day I decided to send Glenda a note and ask if she'd ever thought of doing a Honeymoon kit. I sent her a couple of the kids pics with the Veil and Top Hat. Well Glenda has finished the kit entitled

It's super!!!! Even if you're pics aren't wedding ones there are so many neat elements and papers in it that it'd work for a multitude of photos. I sure hope you'll check her stuff out at Digitals.

Grandma Terry got tickets to the Polar Express train in Hood River Oregon for us. It was a rainy icky night and we ended up in the caboose. But you know, even though the sound wasn’t the best, and it wasn’t exactly what we had anticipated it was still a super time being the Johnson Family!!!

Outasite!

I found this picture of Angi and Derik in amongst the Christmas ones for 2003. The photo was cool but Angi's face was too dark and I couldn't get the colors right. I started playing with the blending modes and ended up with the one called Hard Mix. I love the effect. I'm going to try it again for a large photo for above Angis sofa, as soon as she finds what she wants, then we'll print and frame it and see what the reactions are. Boy the possibilities are limitless with Photoshop!

I used two kits from Maddy Fernandez (at Digitals) Rock & Roll and Funky Farmer.

Toot Toot LOTD at 3Scrapateers!

AT THE FAIR

I was just notified that my page was picked as Layout - of the Day at 3Scrapateers!

This one was about the most fun I've had creating a page. I had asked Bryan and Amber to take some pictures when they went to the fair. They'd just gotten a new Nikon camera. So when the photos came in my email I was so excited. And what did I get?? The little guys in the filmstrip above, a bunny, a chicken and a mean old rooster!

Well being the Momma I am I just couldn't do a page of just animals, so I borrowed a couple of famous people and decapitated them then I took the heads off a couple of pictures of the kids and poof, just like digital magic I now had them appropriately dressed and at the fair.

You've heard the saying don't fool with Mother Nature, well it's not nice to fool with your Mother-in-Law either, lol, (my son-in-law thinks I'm evil but he still loves me!)

The kit is a great new one by Maddy Fernandez and is available at Digitals. It's called Funky Farmer. Maddy has another one she did just before this called Calico Farm they work great together. I hope you'll take time to check her stuff out, it's fabulous.

My middle one and her family. A great moment in time captured forever. These little girls grow so much, it's usually six months in between Gammy's visits and they change so quickly, so these captured glimpses in time will be even more valuable as the years creep on.

I absolutely love the poses the girls made so cute!

This one is just for you Amber. (My youngest) who left me a note there weren't enough pictures of my three, just the grandkids! So here's one for my baby (yep even at 31 you'll be the baby, it's a label that sticks to the youngest like glue, just ask me I know!).

The kids went to Disneyland to celebrate their Honeymoon, even though they married in July they Honeymooned in October. They were given the Royal treatment everywhere they went in this magical land. I think because they wore their 'Hats' that it was a dead give away to all the characters that they had Honeymooners. Everyone was super nice and posed where ever they went.

It's just hard to believe it's now been 2 1/2 years!

Wow I was picked! What a great surprise today. This layout was picked at Scrap Outside The Box by the Atta Girls Team. They have left me great compliments about it. Now Amber you've been seen around the world how's that????

I did this with the next tutorial of Linda Sattgast - The Scrapper Guide, I am sooooo glad I finally took the time to see what she was sending I only wish I had looked a long time ago, I bet I've missed out on a lot.

This time was learning how to put text in a shape. I learned so much, it is so fun to figure out how to do something so simply that you had struggled with on your own.

I also experimented using the shapes and doing everything in the layout on my own, pretty simplist but a good feeling to know I can do it!

This is a picture of my son Mitch and my daughter-in-law Jeanett. I'm wanting to put together one of Melissa's Scrapbook Memory books and needed a couple pictures of the kids to round out all the wedding photos. Recently I had received a newletter from Linda Sattgast. She sends out a wonderful newsletter with a video on how to do some neat trick in Photoshop Elements (it's also adjusted for PS CS2 which I use). Well like lots of things the newsletters have come and been filed and I just finally got around to looking at them. Wow what I've been missing. I created the text here (The Kiss) with her latest technique she shared. It was so simple to do and since I'm fairly new to PS I find it fascinating to discover all these things right in front of me that I had no idea were there or if I did how to use them. If you haven't checked out her sight please do so now and don't miss out like I did on some very good stuff!
